Big Bash League's (BBL) 10th edition started on Thursday and fans got to watch the new rules in play. One of them is power surge which allows the batting side to pick two overs of their choice with fielding restrictions, apart from the first four overs which is a mandatory powerplay in BBL.

Usually, the T20 cricket has a traditional six-over powerplay, but BBL has decided to divide it into two parts from this season. Fans got to watch the first power surge during the Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers match.
