Indian cricketers wish everyone on holy occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti

Guru Nanak Dev founded Sikhism and was the first guru of Sikhs.

The first guru of Sikhs, Guru Nanak DevToday, November 30, 2020, marks the holy occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti and celebrates the birth of the first guru of Sikhs, Guru Nanak. This festival is one of the most revered and auspicious ones for followers of Sikhism.

The Sikhs have been celebrating Guru Nanak Jayanti around November, as it is claimed that Guru Nanak was born on the Full Moon of the Indian Lunar Month Kartik. The day is a gazetted holiday in India.

The founder of Sikhism was Guru Nanak and he was born in 1469, in Rai-Bhoi-di Talwandi in the present Shekhupura District of Pakistan, now Nankana Sahib.

This festival is celebrated for three days and two days before the occasion, the Guru Granth Sahib is read continuously for 48 hours. Sikh worship places known as Gurudwaras prepare langars which are prepared and offered by the volunteers and devotees all over the world.

The Indian cricket fraternity wishes their followers and everyone on the occasion of Guru Nanak Gurpurab.
