Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane tests positive for COVID-19

Lamichhane is supposed to play for the Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 10.

Nepal's premier leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has revealed that he tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on Friday, November 27. The 20-year-old cricketer travelled home from the UAE after being in the runners-up Delhi Capitals squad for IPL 2020.

Lamichhane took to Twitter to announce the news to his fans and called it his duty to inform everyone about his condition.

He wrote, "Hi Everyone, Greetings to all. Its my sincere duty to tell you all that I have been tested positive for COVID-19. I had some body aches since Wednesday. But my health is improving a little bit now. If all goes well, I will return to the field again. Keep me in your prayers."

Sandeep Lamichhane has signed for the Hobart Hurricanes for the 10th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) starting on December 10. It has to be seen now whether he can make up in time to recover from the illness and complete the necessary quarantine periods to play in the T20 league in Australia.

The Hurricanes would be sweating with the sad news as the youngster is their premier spinner for BBL 10.
