"Best coach and mentor," Indian cricketers wish Gary Kirsten on his 53rd birthday

Former South Africa cricketer and ex-India coach Gary Kirsten turned 53 on Monday. Wishes poured in for the World Cup-winning coach of India on Twitter from his fans, friends, and the cricketers who played under him.

Kirsten has a place in heart of Indians who have watched India list the World Cup title in 2011 after 28 years. Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina, who were part of the squad, posted wishes.

Raina called Gary the best coach and mentor in his post and wrote, "To the best coach & a mentor, wishing you a very happy birthday @Gary_Kirsten." He added, "May you keep shining & keep inspiring us forever. Have an amazing day & years ahead."

Yuvraj also referred to him as the best coach and said Gary knew how to build a strong team and could bring the best out of each player. "Wishing a very Happy Birthday to @Gary_Kirsten - the best coach we played under! Someone who knew how to build a rock-solid team and bring out the best from each player on the park. Hope you're doing good and staying safe. Have a great year ahead!".

Harbhajan attached a picture from IPL and wished for Gary's happiness. "Happy birthday legend, Best coach, mentor, big brother @Gary_Kirsten have a great year and life full of happiness.. love always..", he posted.
