The whole of India celebrates the festival of lights, Diwali, today (November 14). Diwali marks the victory of light over darkness; good over evil and is celebrated by followers of Hinduism all over India and many other countries by lighting diyas and distributing sweets.

It is celebrated on occasion of the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya with Goddess Sita and brother Laxman after defeating and killing the evil demon king Ravana and his brothers. Lord Ram had been sentenced to exile in forests for 14 years by his father and during that exile, Ravana had abducted Sita, after which the battle of Lanka happened.

Indian team is currently in Sydney, Australia where they are undergoing a 14-day quarantine ahead of the 1st ODI on November 27. They will take on the hosts in 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 4 Test matches.

The players will miss the festivities back home but many have taken their families along with permission from BCCI. Indian captain Virat Kohli posted his wishes with a video, in which he asked fans to not burst crackers for a better environment.

Rest of the team members also took to Twitter in order to send across wishes to fans. Here are the tweets:
