Former India captain Kapil Dev took to Twitter in order to wish his fans and well-wishers on the occasion of Diwali.

The 1983 World Cup winner was admitted to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) last month, after suffering a heart attack and underwent emergency angioplasty. His fans were concerned about his health and received timely updates from Chetan Sharma, Kapil’s former India teammate.

After being discharged from the hospital, Kapil Dev had shared a video message for his fans and thanked them for their wishes while he was unwell. He confirmed that he was doing well and doctors had even allowed him minuscule exercises.

Recently, he posted a video from the Delhi golf club, playing the game with his friends after receiving the green signal from the doctors to resume the game he loves so much after retirement from cricket in 1994.

Kapil, on Friday, greeted fans on the occasion of Diwali and said he is healthy and his heart is working well.

Happy Deepawali to everybody and I hope this year brings lots and lots of happiness to everybody. Thanks for your wishes. I am healthy and happy. Heart is working good but I want to wish everybody lots and lots of happiness around the world," Kapil Dev said in a video posted on his official Twitter handle.

Kapil played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs for the Indian cricket team from 1978-1994 and still remains the only cricketer to pick 400 plus wickets and make more than 5,000 runs in Tests.
