The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday (October 26) announced Team India’s T20I, ODI and Test squads for the tour of Australia, slated to start from next month.
There was one notable inclusion in India’s T20I squad and that was of leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who is having a great in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in UAE.
Playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chakravarthy has claimed 12 wickets from 11 games at an economy of 6.92 in the IPL 2020.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya was picked in both the ODI and T20I squad, while KL Rahul was named the vice-captain of the team. He was also named as the sole wicketkeeper for the ODI side, which also sees Shubman Gill’s name. Sanju Samson has been named as the second keeper for the T20I side.
After the announcement, cricket experts took to Twitter and congratulated Varun Chakravarthy on his maiden India call-up.
