Taking to Instagram, Stokes uploaded a video of himself bowling in the nets with a nostalgic caption.

"Been great being in Christchurch we're it all began for me. thanks to @sydenhamcricket for letting me use their facilities to bowl in..unlucky today @nick.smithson.7," he wrote.

In the video, Stokes bowled with precise line and length and the ball crashed onto the stumps after the batsman played the wrong line.

Stokes had left England’s bio-secure bubble in the middle of the Pakistan Test series and departed for New Zealand to be with his ailing father Ged, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

After arriving in New Zealand, Stokes had to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine before he could meet his father.

According to a PTI report, Ben Stokes, who is one of Rajasthan Royals' first-choice overseas players, is likely to miss the first half of IPL 2020, starting September 19 in UAE.

Meanwhile, Royals’ English and Australian recruits, who were contesting in a bilateral series, landed in UAE on September 17 for the 13th edition of Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan Royals will open their IPL 2020 campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday (September 22) in Sharjah.
