Ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Australian pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile sounded upbeat, as he is eyeing to make the most of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) wickets that suit his bowling and contribute towards the success of Mumbai Indians (MI) this year.

Coulter-Nile will be part of a strong MI pace attack comprising Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Mitchell McClenaghan, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya for the IPL 2020. The defending champions MI spent Rs 8 crore to acquire the services of the 32-year-old at the auction last year and the Australian said his first aim is to break it into the MI’s “world-class bowling” line up in the IPL 2020.

The IPL 13 will be held in the three venues of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah in the UAE from September 19 to November 10 with the MI taking on Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener and Coulter-Nile is also hoping to “do a little bit of batting” for the MI in the upcoming tournament.

Coulter-Nile in a video posted on the Mumbai Indians twitter handle: “Mumbai has got a world-class bowling line up. So I think firstly I will just try to find my way into the team. Find my role, maybe bowling upfront, through the death or in the middle. One of my strengths is I can bowl anywhere.”

He added, “Also maybe do a little bit of batting behind the likes of Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, and Hardik Pandya. So I think that will be my role, versatility with the ball, and hopefully clear the fences with the bat. I like these wickets. I like the subcontinental (conditions) UAE, India especially. The wickets there really suit my bowling and really trust my skills and hopefully, I'll have a bit of success.”

Recalling his first stint with MI in 2013 when he did not get to play many games, the Australian pacer said: “It was an absolutely great team I was involved with then.”
