"Still England's highest wicket-taker in T20Is," Stuart Broad shuts down a cheeky critic

"Still England's highest wicket-taker in T20Is," Stuart Broad shuts down a cheeky critic

The user was trying to take a dig at Broad's lack of numbers in T20s.

England pacer Stuart Broad shut down a troll who unnecessarily tried to console him after Chris Jordan was praised by Eoin Morgan. The England limited-overs captain Morgan lauded Jordan over his performance in the first T20I against Australia.

England won the first two T20Is against Australia and sealed the series. In the first match, they pulled off a nearly lost game in their favor with good death over bowling.

Morgan after the win said, "Chris Jordan has been one of our greatest ever bowlers and only sits behind Broady in the lead wicket-takers. For younger guys coming through, I think he sets a great example."

ICC shared Morgan's quote on Instagram, to which, Broad replied, ”& delivers under pressure game after game".

An Instagram user tried to be cheeky, but the English pacer had a befitting reply for him. “You are the best in Test cricket don’t worry", wrote the troll.

To which, Broad responded that he is still the highest wicket-taker for England in T20I despite not playing the format for the last 6 years. “Also, England leading wicket-taker in T20 having not played since the age of 28 cheers,” the response read.

Broad has 65 T20I wickets in 56 matches in the shortest format and he hasn't been featured in the T20I side since 2014. Jordan stands at number 2 with 63 wickets overall.
