Legendary India pacer Javagal Srinath celebrated his 51st birthday on Monday (August 31). Fondly known as Mysore Express, Srinath represented India for 12 years after debuting in 1991 against Pakistan in Sharjah.

In 229 ODIs, Srinath claimed 315 wickets at an average of 28.1, and in Tests, he ended up with equally good numbers – 236 wickets from 67 games at an average of 30.5. The former paceman was also the first Indian to notch up speeds in excess of 150 kmph as he once clocked 157 kmph in a match against Zimbabwe.

After retiring from international cricket, Srinath took on the role of match referee in 2006. He continues to perform the duties even now and is well-respected across the circuit.

As the famous cricketer entered in the new season of his life, wishes poured in for him from the cricketing fraternity.

Amid a number of greetings, there was also a post from ex-India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, which grabbed everyone’s attention.

Taking to Twitter, Yuvraj shared a video from 2017 in which Srinath can be seen running in the treadmill wearing Team India’s practice t-shirt from 2003.

As Yuvi asked him while recording the video: “How are you Sri bhai? Nice t-shirt Sri bhai”, the latter replied: “Yeh mat dikhana yaar, problem ho jaayegi. Mat daalna!”, urging him not to share the video on social media platforms.

However, Yuvraj didn’t listen to him and uploaded the video three years later.

“Couldn’t resist putting this on social media to show your love for team India Zany face to one of our Indian legends, glad to have shared the dressing room with you! Happy B’day #JavagalSrinath! I’m sure your teammates would love to see your video @Sachin_RT @SGanguly99 @harbhajan_singh,” Yuvraj wrote in the caption.
