On Sunday (August 30), Laxman touched down in Sharjah Cricket Stadium and the venue reminded him of legendary Sachin Tendulkar's iconic knocks against Australia in 1998.

Taking to Twitter, Laxman shared a picture from the stadium and captioned it as: “Coming back to Sharjah after a long time. Whenever I walk on this field memories of those two special 100s from @sachin_rt comes back to my mind, rushing like a #desertstorm”.

Replying to Laxman’s post, Tendulkar himself wrote: “Still remember both those games like they happened just yesterday. And do you remember how we almost got blown away by that desert storm?”

Subsequently, Yuvraj Singh entered into the conversation and said: “I mean all I remember was the Australian attack blown away by a hurricane  called Tendulkar !”

On April 22, 1998, Tendulkar had powered India into the final of the tri-series amid a ferocious Desert Storm with a dazzling knock of 143 from 131 balls versus Australia.

Even though India failed to chase down a total of 276 in 46 overs, the Men in Blue qualified for the final, where Sachin produced 131-ball 134 to script his team’s six-wicket victory against the Steve Waugh-led side.
