Star footballer and considered to be one of the greatest of all time, Argentina’s Lionel Messi has decided to move on from FC Barcelona in the Spanish La-Liga tournament. This bombshell of news comes ten days after FC Barcelona lost 2-8 to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinal of the Champions League.

As per Spanish media reports, Messi, whose contract runs out in May 2021, faxed a message to FC Barcelona on Tuesday night, asking to be released immediately by triggering a rare clause, which will allow making his exit smooth.

Since the news broke, tongues have started wagging at what next for the famous Messi, as speculations have started which teams might be interested in buying the footballer, who comes with a hefty price tag.

Delhi Capitals tweeted, “In light of recent rumors, Delhi Capitals would like to confirm that a bid for #LionelMessi has not been made.”

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders decided to invite Messi to wear the purple and the gold, with his face photoshopped onto a KKR kit.
