Veteran batsman Suresh Raina announced his retirement from international cricket soon after former Indian captain MS Dhoni also bid farewell to international cricket on Saturday (August 15). Raina posted a picture with his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammates in Chennai, including Dhoni, while saying that he has chosen to join Dhoni in this journey.
33-year-old Raina made his debut for India in 2005 with an ODI against Sri Lanka, and played his last game for India in 2018. He was the first Indian batsman to score hundreds in all three formats in international cricket, and made a name for himself as a top-notch finisher and a gun fielder, often rated among the best in the game.

2011 World Cup winner, he played 10 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is scoring 768, 5615 and 1605 runs respectively in the three formats. He was also a useful performer with the ball and took 62 wickets as well as 167 catches across formats.
He like Dhoni, will now continue to represent CSK in Indian Premier League (IPL) and is also the vice-captain of the franchise. He had been out of action since over a year due to a knee surgery and is set to make a return to cricket with the IPL 2020 in UAE.
