Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has yet again dismissed the famous sledging done by the legendary Indian batsman Virender Sehwag during their 2003 World Cup match in Johannesburg.

Sehwag had famously told Akhtar "baap baap hota hai, beta beta hota hai" during a crucial World Cup match between Pakistan and India when the legendary pacer sledged the Indian opener to play a hook shot off his bowling.

The former opener had also allegedly told Akhtar to ask legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who was batting at the other end, to play the hook shot instead of him suggesting the same.

He had told former Pakistan pacer “Woh tera baap khada hai samne non-striking end pe, uss ko bol woh mar ke dikhayega” and the latter eventually got the wicket of Tendulkar for 98 in Johannesburg match.

However, Akhtar has always denied Sehwag's claims by saying such an incident never took place.

Recently, former pacer-turned-commentator was once again asked about the same by a Pakistani journalist and he replied: “Would he survive after saying something like that to me? Would I leave him? I would beat him up at the ground and then at the hotel.”

Noteworthy, India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the 2003 World Cup match on the back of brilliant batting efforts from Tendulkar, Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, and Rahul Dravid. India had also reached the final of the tournament in South Africa, but the final to Australia by 125 runs.
