On this day, July 30, back in 2005, Suresh Raina, an aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman, and an occasional off-spin bowler made his international debut for India.
Raina made his India debut with an ODI against Sri Lanka at the age of 19 in 2005, although, the southpaw did not have a good outing as he was sent back to the pavilion for a duck, he managed to change his fortunes and went on to become one of the finest white-ball cricketers.

The 33-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best fielders in the world cricket as well as one of India s finest batsmen in the white-ball cricket, has played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is for India so far. He was the first Indian to score centuries in all three international formats.
However, the 2011 World Cup winner, who is also the first Indian batsman to register centuries in all three formats of the game, might have been out of Indian team since 2018, but still making headlines with his brilliant show in the Indian Premier League (IPL) – where he is the second-highest run maker after India captain Virat Kohli with 5368 runs at 34.
