A picture of Noble Prize winner Malala Yousafzai with former Pakistan cricketer Faisal Iqbal went viral on social media. The reason is Iqbal was mistaken as the son of the Israeli Defence Minister.
A post in Urdu, published on Facebook, was shared over 20,000 times and Faisal Iqbal, the nephew of Javed Miandad, had to clarify the false claims in a video over his picture with the Pakistan activist.

The caption on the fake post read: “Malala Yousafzai having a good time with the son of Israeli Defence Minister. Who will lead the Pakistani nation in the future.” AFP Fact Check tried to stop the rumors and rubbished the claims.
The picture was first published by Iqbal on his Facebook page on December 19, 2019. ”Good to catch up a surprise Visit of Malala Fund at the US OPEN Cricket. A keen Cricket Follower, Enjoyed Discussing Cricket With her!”, he added caption.
The ex-cricketer reposted the picture on Malala's birthday, July 12, 2020, which went viral for wrong reasons.
Asking people to stop spreading hate, Iqbal said, “You can keep all your likes, dislikes, jealousy, hatred aside but nobody has to call anyone Jew, non-Muslim or non-Pakistan."
