Out-of-favor Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal sung praises for MS Dhoni and called him India's best wicketkeeper-batsman. Akmal said Dhoni's ability to win matches for India consistently with his performance put him above others.

“Best wicketkeeper-batsman India has ever produced, who has achieved so much for Indian cricket. It is unbelievable,” Akmal said in an interview with Sawera Pasha on YouTube.

Akmal pointed out that an average of 50 in ODI cricket, which Dhoni has, is very tough to maintain and he called it an unbelievable achievement.

“To maintain a 50+ average throughout your career in ODIs and play match-winning innings continuously is very tough,” Akmal said.

The Pakistan veteran has played a lot of cricket against India when Dhoni was part of the side in the early stages of his career. He recalled the ODI series between India and Pakistan which Dhoni won on his head.

“I remember he just took away the ODI series from Pakistan. The way he started against Pakistan in the A tour in Kenya and carry on the same performance till the end of his career is unbelievable,” added Akmal.

Dhoni's first ODI hundred came against Pakistan after getting a promotion in the batting order. The hundred changed his career and also covered up his initial failures.

Akmal also added about the achievements of Dhoni as a captain. The 39-year-old has all three ICC trophies to his name, the only captain to do in history of cricket.

“T20, ODI World Cup, IPL trophies, Champions Trophy, he has won everything as a captain. You get very few players like MS Dhoni in world cricket,” added Akmal.
