“Should’ve saved such a delivery for Sachin,” Aakash Chopra trolls himself on throwback video of Brett Lee

“Should’ve saved such a delivery for Sachin,” Aakash Chopra trolls himself on throwback video of Brett Lee

Chopra recalled a vicious yorker from Brett Lee during the 2004 SCG Test.

Aakash Chopra started his India career with scores of 60 and 52 in his first two Tests against New Zealand in 2003, but in the remaining 8 Tests of his career, he couldn’t pass fifty again and ended with 437 runs to his name.

However, he was part of two historic tours for India, once against Pakistan in 2004 and then previous to that, he went to Australia in 2003-04 under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly, when India drew the Test series 1-1 and almost came close to winning it, after their 705-run inning in Sydney Test.

"Pakistan team will be safe in India", says Aakash Chopra

During that series, Chopra played all the four Tests but could muster only 186 runs from at an average of 23.25. His top score of 48 came in the first innings of the third Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Recently, a Twitter account shared a throwback video of Brett Lee clean bowling Chopra with a 147.5 kph yorker during the SCG Test. He was batting on 45 and shared a 123-run partnership for the first wicket with Virender Sehwag.

After Chopra got out, Sachin Tendulkar came in and played one of the best knocks in Test history, as he made 241* which had no shot in covers on the off side. The Master Blaster shared a 353-run stand for the fourth wicket along with Rahul Dravid, who scored 178 off 298.

Chopra captioned the video and wrote, “I’ve seen this a thousand times…played it in my head same number of times too. Unfortunately, for the exact same result. @BrettLee_58, why waste such a good delivery on me?? Should’ve saved it for @sachin_rt….I got out, he walked in and we know what happened next. 241*
