“At times you forget it was Sushant and not MS,” Shane Watson and David Warner pay tribute to late actor

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14 at the age of 34.

Sushant Singh Rajput | Vogue IndiaThe death of Sushant Singh Rajput has sent shockwaves in not only Bollywood but also the cricketing world. This is due to the late actor’s portrayal of MS Dhoni in the former India captain’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

The 2016 blockbuster hit saw Sushant essaying the role of Dhoni and showing his rise from a ticket-collector to the 2011 World Cup-winning India captain. His acting and dedication to transform himself into Dhoni was commended by all and earned him numerous accolades and nominations for the best actor.

Unfortunately, news and police reports suggested that Sushant was battling severe depression from the last six months and was on medication. His last movie on big screen Chhichhore netted upwards of INR 100 crores, while he made his debut on digital medium with Drive.

But on the afternoon of June 14, 2020, Sushant apparently lost the battle to his depression and committed suicide and was cremated on June 15 in presence of his father and sisters, who traveled from his home town Patna, Bihar to Bandra, where he resided.

Sushant received tributes from not only the Bollywood but also cricket fraternity, including from that of international cricketers as well.

Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson and current opener David Warner took to Instagram to say heartfelt words about the amazing talent which was lost too soon.

Shane Watson said, “I can’t stop thinking about #sushantsinghrajput. It is so tragic that someone that was so incredibly talented has left our world way too soon. In The Untold Story, at times you forgot whether it was Sushant or MSD. Amazing portrayal and now the world is much poorer with him not here in it. #gonetoosoon
