Former India pacer Ajit Agarkar may have been India's third-highest wicket-taker in ODIs, but what gets most discussed is his Test hundred at Lord's against England.

India was chasing 568 and they had lost 6 wickets for just 170 runs. Agarkar walked out at number 8 and smashed an unbeaten 109 out of the blue. Although India still went on to lose the match after being bowled out at 397.

Getting featured on Lord's honors board is an achievement and sometimes the greatest of batsmen don't get to achieve it.

During a chat with Gaurav Kapur in a podcast, Agarkar talked about the incident when he took a jibe at former Australia captain Ricky Ponting for not being on Lord's honors board. They were part of Kolkata Knight Riders in the first IPL.

“I did [rib] quietly to Ricky Ponting once when he was playing at KKR with me. Just laughingly asked him, ‘How many hundreds at Lord’s ya?’”.

Agarkar further cleared that it was just banter and he wasn't disrespecting one of the finest batters from Australia. “But look, those guys, I would easily swap my one hundred for what they’ve achieved. It’d be too disrespectful to ask them that. But it’s always fun, I was lucky enough to get a hundred there. It’s a special memory” Ajit said.
