In the last 12 months, a number of former Pakistan cricketers have started their YouTube channel, where they express their opinion on the game, current players, PCB, among other topics. However, they get carried away at times and ended up grabbing headlines for passing derogatory remarks.
Speaking over this issue, cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja advised these ex-players to avoid personal attacks against an individual.

According to Raja, constructive criticism is the way to go rather than indulging in unnecessary mud-slinging.
“Mic is a very powerful medium. It takes just two seconds to pull someone’s pants down so we need to be very careful. We need to be respectful and say things that are digestible,” Ramiz said while speaking on his YouTube channel.
“I am saying all this because the Pakistan Cricket Board has filed cybercrime cases against one or two individuals. Some people have also crossed boundaries because when you are frustrated, you vent. However, there are ways to do it,” he added.
Raja further stressed that such instances bring down the image of Pakistan cricket and thus he suggested everyone to be a bit responsible.
“Many ex-cricketers have opened their YouTube channels. Please vent in a way so that it is not a personal attack against any individual, which forces them to take extreme steps like reporting the case to the FIA,” he said.
“Bread and butter of every former and current cricketer are dependent on cricket. Pakistan cricket has only gotten wrong headlines for the past month or so, which has brought down its image.”
“You can criticise because there are faults in the system, but at least do it wisely,” Ramiz further remarked.
Recently, former speedster Shoaib Akhtar was in the news as he was called for a hearing by the cybercrime unit of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for spreading false allegations against PCB’s legal advisor.
Last month, former Pakistan bowler Tanvir Ahmed received the flak for suggesting Babar Azam to improve his English speaking skills after the latter was appointed as ODI captain.
