Former India captain MS Dhoni hasn't appeared on the field with Team India since July 2019. His lack of presence made it hard for fans to stay connected with him as he is not active on social media too. When Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 came close, fans were eager to see him back in action, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to be postponed indefinitely.
Even in lockdown, the fans were hopeful that they will get to see Dhoni live on Instagram having a chat with one of his mates, but unfortunately, he didn't come. While Indian cricketers took to social media to open up about their thoughts apart from cricket, Dhoni preferred to not show up.
The 38-year-old's wife Sakshi Dhoni recently joined Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Instagram live. She talked about the CSK skipper and his social media life.
Explaining why Dhoni doesn't come online, Sakshi said, “You know Mahi, how he is. Mahi won't come and talk on Insta live. He has had pressure to post videos on Coronavirus and all but he hasn't because if your PM has said something, you jolly well follow it. And nobody is bigger than your PM right now in the country. This is the reason why he hasn't come and stated anything on social media."
She pointed at Dhoni's low-profile life on social media. “Knowing Mahi, they are crazy about him. They will know that he has always kept a low profile on social media. Look at his Instagram, like how many pictures has he posted.”
Fans rely on Sakshi to keep them updated about Dhoni and she doesn't disappoint. She shares pictures and videos of Dhoni for his fans regularly.
