Today is Eid-Ul-Fitr, a holy day for followers of Islam all over the world.
After a month of fasting, the Muslim community celebrates this occasion with delight and cheerfulness. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of fasting that people observe from dawn to dusk. The festivities commence after the sighting of the crescent moon.
Since the world is currently dealing with the novel COVID-19 outbreak, the Muslim community has been urged to offer Eid prayers from home and avoid large gatherings. Hence, the celebrations will look different this time around, keeping in mind the government guidelines.
