These are tough times for cricketers and the fans as cricket has been hit badly by the Covid-19 pandemic forcing all the cricket boards to postpone or cancel the scheduled tournaments indefinitely. The resumption of professional cricket still seems some time away with the virus not relenting and no vaccine in sight.
One of the tournaments that was forced to be postponed was Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. BCCI is now hoping to find a window in later part of the year for the cash-rich league to be played, but everything depends on whether the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 proceeds as scheduled in October in Australia.
The tournament holds major significance for former Indian captain MS Dhoni, who has not played any competitive cricket since the 2019 World Cup semi-final defeat to New Zealand on July 10. Dhoni practiced hard with both the bat and his wicket-keeping gloves during the training camp of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) just before the lockdown was imposed in the country in an effort to contain the virus.
Dhoni has not made any announcement on his international future, but if he wishes to represent Team India in the T20 format again, he will have to prove his form and fitness in the IPL as suggested by Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri. Various experts have suggested he might have already played his last game for the country.

For now, Dhoni seems not too stressed about the future as he is spending time with his family and pets at his massive farmhouse in Ranchi. The former Indian captain stays away from social media, but his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva keep posting videos and pictures with the iconic cricketer to make the fans feel happy.
In a video posted by Ziva on Friday (May 8), Dhoni can be seen running a friendly race with her and also giving catching practice to his pet dog. Fans were quick to spot his new bearded look which received various comments.
