Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting shared a jacket used by him during the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia, which was the first and last time men's cricket was played during the quadrennial sporting event.
Ponting recalled how Australia dominated its way to the final but lost to South Africa in the summit-clash to settle with the silver medal.

"Found my jacket from the Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games in 1998. One of the few occasions we weren't good enough in a big tournament, South Africa outplayed us in the gold medal game," he captioned the picture of the jacket tweeted on Sunday (May 3).
In the final, played on 19th September 1998, South Africa dismissed Australia for just 183 in the first half despite captain Steve Waugh (90) playing a terrific innings. Shaun Pollock (4/19) delivered an outstanding spell for the Proteas, who also had Mike Rindel (67) and Jacques Kallis (44) contributing nicely during the run-chase.
Apart from beating the Aussies, South Africa also defeated Barbados, Northern Ireland and Bangladesh in Group C, before going past Sri Lanka in the semi-final, to bag the gold medal.
New Zealand beat Sri Lanka in the 3rd place play-off to win the bronze medal in the 16-team event.
Cricket is set to return at the CWG games in 2022 in Birmingham, where women's T20I cricket has been included.
It is understood the event will feature top 8 teams in the female version and be played with the ICC providing match officials to ensure the game's rules and regulations are upheld.
The CWG 2022 is to set to take place from July 27 to August 27 that summer.
