England opening batsman Jason Roy who played for Quetta Gladiators in the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League looked good as he scored 233 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate of 120.

But the Gladiators’ owner recently revealed that the Englishman broke a lot of bats in frustration of getting out and the number went upto five this year’s tournament.

The news was reported by Cricket Pakistan on its official Twitter handle. However, Roy did not agree with the news as he revealed that the bats broke due to bad weather and also that he only carried 3 or 4 bats at a time during PSL.

That’s not correct. 3 bats broke due to the dry weather and using them in the nets too much. I only took 3 or 4 bats over with me to Pakistan,” the England opener Jason Roy wrote on Twitter.

Jason Roy kept on saying that he was not able to middle the ball while batting. Also, I think he and Shane Watson were not able to complement each other at the top of the order because Watson prefers the big shots while Roy likes to run quickly between the wickets in order to score runs,” Gladiators’ owner had said in a YouTube video, talking about Gladiator's perfromances in PSL 5.
