Harbhajan Singh names five toughest batsmen to bowl to, picks two Pakistanis

The turbanator's list features some of the finest players against spin bowling.

Harbhajan Singh | GettyHarbhajan Singh, the veteran India off-spinner, went about enlisting five batsmen whom he has found the most difficult to dismiss in his career so far.

Harbhajan, who has played over 350 international games for his country and picked more than 700 wickets, has faced up to some of the game's greatest batsmen.

Having come out on top of a few while struggling against others, the 39-year-old named five batsmen from the second category, who made him work extremely hard for success on the field, during an Instagram live chat session with Rohit Sharma.

The first name in Harbhajan's list was South Africa great Jacques Kallis, who remains his country's highest run-getter in Tests and ODIs and was never easy to dislodge for India, home and away.

"I found Jacques Kallis very difficult to bowl at in Tests," said Bhajji about the man with 13,289 runs in Tests and 11,579 runs in ODIs.

Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden was second in Harbhajan's list. Hayden enjoyed facing Harbhajan, even in Indian conditions, where he swept him through the leg-side and made the off-spinner bowl short to him, which helped him further play around the field.

Third-most difficult to dismiss for Harbhajan was West Indies legend Brian Lara, whom he didn't bowl to as much, but is regarded as one of the finest batsmen of all kinds of spin bowling.

Younis Khan, Pakistan's first and only batsman to breach the 10,000 run milestone, was fourth in Harbhajan's list. "Younis Khan troubled me a lot," said the turbanator, before Rohit reminded him how good Younis was against him. "Yes, all the time, he made me feel (like) crying."

Last but certainly not the least in Harbhajan's list was former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul Haq, who scored 8830 runs in Tests and 11739 runs in ODIs.

“Inzamam is also someone I found hard to dismiss. There are many but I would choose these five," the spinner concluded.
