Amid the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, India’s Test specialist off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had on Saturday (April 18) a #AskAshwin session with his fans on Twitter.

During the Q&A session on the micro-blogging site, a fan expressed his wish to see Ashwin pulling off another 'mankad' dismissal and the veteran’s hilarious take on the controversial form of dismissal left fans in splits.

The controversial 'mankad' dismissal came into light in 2009 when the off-spinner ran out Sri Lanka's Lahiru Thirimanne, though, then captain Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar withdrew the appeal.

But during the IPL 2019, Ashwin did something similar but that time he decided to stick to his decision after 'mankading' England's Jos Buttler during a league match between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Since then, the debate around the controversial dismissal continues, though Ashwin said he cannot imagine the euphoria that will follow if he tries to pull off the 'mankad' dismissal again.

A Twitter user asked “Can't wait to see another mankad from you Ash,” to which the Indian spinner replied, “Imagine the euphoria that will surround me after that,”

Noteworthy, Ashwin would have been seen in action for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 if the tournament had started on March 29, though, the tournament has now been suspended indefinitely due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
