WATCH- "More chances of snowfall in Lahore than an Ind-Pak ODI series," says Sunil Gavaskar

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar grabbed a lot of attention after he proposed a three-match ODI series between archrivals India and Pakistan to raise funds in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

"Government will decide, not Shoaib Akhtar," says Madan Lal about India-Pakistan ODI series

As India play the Green Army only in ICC tournaments and have not played a bilateral series since 2012, odds of a bilateral series between the two, that too under current conditions, where all the cricketing activities are suspended across the globe and countries are going under lockdowns are really slim.

Even the former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar feels that an ODI series between the archrivals is really unlikely in the near future as he sarcastically said, “There are more chances of snowfall in Lahore than bilateral series between India and Pakistan,” while talking to Ramiz Raja in a YouTube video.

Both teams will keep on meeting in World Cups and ICC tournaments, but a series between them seems unlikely right now,” the 70-year old added.

Earlier, Gavaskar’s teammate and India’s first World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev had slammed Akhtar for his idea by saying, “India doesn't need the money,” and that he also felt that it is not worth risking lives for a cricket match.
