"Spread love, not hate" - Harbhajan's message to fans after being criticised on social media

Harbhajan and Yuvraj faced the backlash for supporting Shahid Afridi's charity foundation amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Harbhajan Singh | GettyHarbhajan Singh, the veteran India off-spinner, on Wednesday (April 1) appealed his fans and everyone to "spread love, not hate" amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The turbanator shared a clip over Twitter where an NGO in US is shown working tirelessly to help those in great distress because of the outbreak.

"No religion,no cast, only humanity..that’s what it is.. stay safe stay home..spread love not hate or virus.. let’s pray for every single one.. May waheguru bless us all," he captioned the video.

This appeal came at a time when a section of fans had criticised Bhajji, and his former India teammate Yuvraj Singh, for their open support to ex-Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s charity foundation across the border.

This section of fans had even questioned the two outstanding Indian cricketers' moral responsibility towards their country as they supported an institution based in Pakistan amid the pandemic.

Yuvraj had to then post a clarification tweet via his official handle on the matter, which Harbhajan retweeted.
