The whole country of India has been put under lockdown with the orders of government and as announced by PM Narendra Modi. This is to tackle the rapid spread of the Coronavirus which has registered close to 25,000 deaths so far and infected almost 550,000 people worldwide.

India has registered more than 770 cases of COVID-19 and 20 people have died so far with 71 recovering from the virus. There seems to be good news as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on March 27, 2020, said that community transmission of coronavirus in India could have been delayed.

The COVID-19 spread has also halted sporting activities around the globe and this includes cricket. The Indian Premier League’s 13th season is up in doldrums after it was postponed from March 29 to April 14. It has given the Indian players some much needed time off and captain Virat Kohli shared an important video asking the citizens to follow instructions of the government to the tee and stay inside.

Please wake up to the reality and seriousness of the situation and take responsibility. The nation needs our support and honesty,” he captioned his video.
