With international and domestic cricket shut down across the globe due to the coronavirus pandemic, social media handles of various cricket boards have been making light-hearted posts to engage with fans while the on-field play remains suspended. 

Among them, one that of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday (March 24) also reminded people to continue safe distancing from each other by staying indoors in order to best tackle the outbreak, which as of now has infected a significant number of people worldwide, claiming as many as 16,000 lives.

"#Stay Home everyone. We are keeping a close watch," the BCCI posted over Twitter, along with an interesting photo of Rohit Sharma using binocular. 

The board had earlier indefinitely postponed the India-South Africa ODI series in mutual agreement with Cricket South Africa (CSA) to avoid potential COVID-19 spread. The three-match series had its first ODI in Dharamsala washed out on March 12. Lucknow (March 15) and Kolkata (March 18) were due to host the following games but those were unfortunately suspended. 

The board then announced the delay in the possible start to the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to until at least April 15 after discussing the issue with all IPL franchises. 

With over 400 cases of people being tested positive of COVID-19 and nine deaths already reported, India is in a lockdown till March 31 to tackle the deadly outbreak.
