Indian cricketers shares videos of Janta clapping to appreciate Corona Warriors

PM Modi had asked the citizens to show appreciation to essential workers tackling COVID-19 threat.

People clapping in balconies and beating utensilsToday, on March 22, 2020, Sunday, the entire country of India observed a one-day ‘Janta Curfew’ which was called by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to make citizens stay indoors from morning 7 am-9 pm.

Under this Janata (public) curfew, no one should leave their home or gather in their neighborhoods. Only those related to essential services should go out," said the Prime Minister. He also asked the citizens to come out in their balconies or to their windows at 5 pm and clap, beat utensils and make noise in order to appreciate the work that is being done by doctors, nurses, medical staff and cleaning staff all around India.

"On that day, at 5 pm, we will stand at our balconies, windows or doors for 5 minutes, we will show our gratitude to those maintaining essential services by ringing bells, sounding sirens and clapping...," he said.

The initiative was shared by many celebrities as well including Indian cricket fraternity who urged their fans and followers to do as instructed and also show their gratitude towards the medical professional and workers sanitizing various public places in the county.

The cricketers shared the videos of people from their localities coming out and clapping, blowing conches, and utensils in order to say thanks to essential workers everywhere in India.
