Australia batsman Steve Smith got booed at Wanderers against South Africa, but this time not because of his tainted past. The incident happened during the third over which was bowled by pacer Dale Steyn in the first T20I. 

Steyn lost the control on the ball and it came out of his hand because of poor grip. He had not completed his bowling action and hence the ball was called dead by umpire already. But Smith didn't pay attention and he saw it as a scoring opportunity.

The crowd was triggered seeing Smith smashing the ball over the ropes. They started jeering him for the shot.

Australia won the first T20I by 107 runs after they bowled out South Africa at just 89 runs. Batting first, the visitors scored 196/6 in 20 overs. Smith was the top scorer for Aussies with 45 runs.
