WATCH: "I do some weird stuff, says Steve Smith about his quirky batting mannerisms

Smith is famous for his different stance, and way of gearing up to face a delivery.

Australia batsman Steve Smith's batting mannerisms are very different from others, and it's famous too.

He leaves the ball differently, does weird things before facing a delivery, and has a unique style of playing through the on the side. All these things work well for him and Smith, in an upcoming documentary based on the last Ashes, said it happens and he doesn't try to do it purposely.

“I think it, left-pad right pad, box, tap in the middle- behind my foot lookout- behind my foot lookout one, good to go,” Smith said.

“The leave is always fun. Now, he is trying to jump up, Gee! You are going to see more of it. When he is doing that, he is on”, said Usman Khawaja.

Smith punishes himself whenever he fails. The ex-Australia captain had disclosed he does not take the team bus every time he misses a Test hundred. Aussie batsman David Warner and Pat Cummins commented on Smith's dedication to doing well.

“Very often there would be a message on teams’ WhatsApp group,  Steve, are you batting? Coz there you hear it, ‘Tap, Tap’ he’ll always bat or shadow batting”, revealed Pat Cummins.
