West Indies bowler Sheldon Cottrell got recognized for his batting ability for the first time. He became the first number 11 batsman to score winning runs with a six. Cottrell's six helped his team chase down 238 inside 50 overs at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown Barbados on Thursday.

It was an intense game between Ireland and West Indies which the latter won by one wicket and penultimate ball of the match.

West Indies lost four wickets on 76 runs and it was Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran who stitched up a partnership to make their chase stable. However, after a rain break, Pooran and Pollard both were dismissed for just two runs, in the span of two overs.

Hayden Walsh Jr in the tail found support from Khary Pierre and Alzarri Joseph to take their innings closer to the target. Walsh Jr who scored unbeaten 46 runs had the task to finish the match. In the last over, West Indies needed 5 runs in 6 balls, but they had only one wicket left. A single error could have ended their innings. Luckily, they survived two close run-out chances.

Cottrell was the one on danger end on both occasions; as if the script was well put in for the number 11 batsman to finish it off. He smashed a six off the second last ball when they needed 2 off 2 deliveries and won the match for his team.

West Indies have sealed the series 2-0 with another match to be played.
