As the decade draws to a close, a lot of cricket pundits are naming their Test XI of the past 10 years. The team includes players who have dominated the longest format from 2010-19.

Former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting has become the latest to reveal his Test XI of the decade. On Monday (December 30), Ponting posted his line-up on Twitter and named India’s Virat Kohli as the captain of the side.

Kohli, who is currently ranked No.1 in both ICC Test and ODI rankings for batsmen, is the only Indian to feature in Ponting's Test team of the 2010s.

"Everyone's picking teams of the decade so I thought I'd join in the fun," Ponting wrote on his Twitter handle.

"This would be my Test team of the 2010's: David Warner, Alastair Cook, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli (c), Kumar Sangakkarra (wk), Ben Stokes, Dale Steyn, Nathan Lyon, Stuart Broad, James Anderson."

Last week, Virat Kohli was also named in Wisden’s five cricketers of the decade list for his unparalleled cricketing feats. He has already notched up 70 international hundreds and is only behind Ponting (71) and Sachin Tendulkar (100).

Kohli, who averages more than 50 across all three formats, is also third in the list of leading run-scorers of all time with 21,444 runs, behind Ponting (27,483) and Tendulkar (34,357).
