Indian batsman Mandeep Singh is currently leading Punjab state cricket team in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2019-20 and has been in brilliant form with the bat in the domestic season.

The right-hander is a regular face in the domestic circuit since making debut for Punjab in 2010-11 but couldn’t cement his place in the Indian team after featuring in 3 T20Is.

Though, the 27-year-old is one of the famous names in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having featured for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Mandeep has once again showed his supremacy in the domestic circuit with the bat, as he played a captain's knock to guide Punjab to 10-wicket win over Rajasthan in the opening game of their Ranji season on December 12 in Jaipur.

Mandeep scored 122 runs off 174 balls in the first innings while the rest of the job was done by his bowlers to demolish the hosts in the Ranji Trophy opener in Jaipur.

After Punjab’s win over Rajasthan, Mandeep shared a tweet on social media which reads “No rich parents, No handouts, No favours, Straight Hustle. All-day every day.” It seems that the batsman was feeling motivated after his team’s winning start to this Ranji season.

However, the tweet didn’t go down with his followers who criticised the Punjab skipper, as he has received some unpleasant responses which led him to delete it later.

Though he later clarified while responding a user: “It was just a quote, please don’t read into it too much. My parents weren’t rich yes, but that doesn’t mean I said that rich people don’t hustle.”
