Resuming his innings from 67 not out on Day 2, Stokes was looking set to notch up the three-figure mark before Ross Taylor grabbed a one-handed stunner to send him back.

In the 101st over of English innings, Tim Southee dismissed Stokes but all the credit for the wicket should go to Taylor, who leaped in the air to his right to complete the catch.

Taylor was stationed at first slip as the ball was flying away from him after taking the outside edge of Stokes’ bat. However, the Kiwi veteran plucked it out of thin air to send the entire ground to a standstill.

Here’s the video:

Replying to England’s first innings score, New Zealand scored 141/4 at stumps on Day 2. The hosts trail by 209 runs with Henry Nicholls (26 not out) and BJ Watling (6 not out) trying to stitch a partnership.
