BCCI’s senior selection committee, headed by MSK Prasad, announced Team India’s squads for the upcoming limited-overs series against West Indies at home on Thursday (November 21).

Kerala wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson, who was part of the squad in the last T20I series against Bangladesh, was snubbed from the shortest format without being given a chance.

Samson’s omission took the Indian fans by surprised and the cricketer himself was left speechless.

Taking to Twitter, the 25-year-old Samson on Friday (November 22) posted a ‘smiley face’ instead of any text reacting to his exclusion.

Samson got axed as skipper Virat Kohli returned to the T20I squad after skipping the Bangladesh series. The selectors backed Rishabh Pant for wicketkeeping duties despite his dismal showing in recent past.

After warming the bench during the Bangladesh T20I series, Samson featured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Kerala and amassed 112 runs from four games.

The right-hander played his last and only T20I in 2015 against Zimbabwe, in which he had scored 19 off 24 balls.

India’s T20I Squad for West Indies Series:
