Team India sends across wishes to fans on occasion of Diwali festival

Diwali is being celebrated around the country on Sunday (October 27).

The whole of India celebrates the festival of lights, Diwali, today. Diwali marks the victory of light over darkness; good over evil and is celebrated by followers of Hinduism all over India and many other countries by lighting diyas and distributing sweets.

It is celebrated on occasion of the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya with Goddess Sita and brother Laxman after defeating and killing the evil demon king Ravana and his brothers. Lord Ram had been sentenced to exile in forests for 14 years by his father and during that exile, Ravana had abducted Sita, after which the battle of Lanka happened.

Children have fun by bursting fire crackers to enjoy the festive occasion. The Indian team doesn’t have any match until November 3, when they face Bangladesh in the T20I series and hence the cricketers are able to celebrate Diwali with much energy and enthusiasm with their families and loved ones.

The team took to Twitter in order to send across wishes to fans and we have the best tweets for you. Here the tweets:
