Portugal star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo achieved another feat as he overtook his arch-rival Lionel Messi and Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli in terms of being the highest-earning celebrity on Instagram.
Ronaldo boasts an Instagram following of over 186 million which is 20 million more than pop star Ariana Grande, who is ranked second. On the other hand, Kohli has about 42 million followers on the social photo site.

In a recent study conducted by Buzz Bingo, it was revealed that Ronaldo earned a sum of USD 975k per post in his last 34 sponsored posts while Messi earned a revenue of USD 648k per post in his last 36 posts.
Talking about Kohli, he has an earning USD 196k per post and has earned an amount of total of USD 1.18 million from Instagram in the past 12 months. As far as the overall list is concerned – the Indian skipper occupies the 11th spot.
It is worth mentioning here that six of the top 10 earners on the platform are sportspersons, with the likes of David Beckham, Neymar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic also featuring in the list.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently leading Team India in the ongoing Test series against South Africa at home. He played his career-best knock of 254 not out to script India’s innings and 137-run victory in the second Test in Pune.
