India’s honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 69th birthday today (September 17). Born in Vadnagar (Gujarat), PM Modi is widely credited for being at the helm of the largest non-Congress government at the Centre since Independence.
After serving Gujarat as Chief Minister for more than a decade, Modi was named BJP candidate for PM post in 2014 general elections. Modi led BJP to a thumping win as the party secured 282 seats in the Lok Sabha polls and he took oath as India’s 14th Prime Minister on May 26, 2014.
Under his inspirational leadership, the Bharatiya Janata Party sealed its phenomenal electoral victory with 300-plus seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. After the counting of votes for 542 Lok Sabha seats ended, the final tally of the Modi-led BJP stood at 303 seats.
