There are different ways of handling disappointments in life. When it comes to cricket, some players lose focus after being by ignored by selectors while others take it as a challenge to improve their game. As far as Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson is concerned – he certainly falls in the latter category.

Jackson’s name didn’t feature among the 44 cricketers picked for three separate Duleep Trophy squads. But instead of being disappointed by the snub, he is practicing his heart out in the nets and that too in rain.

Sheldon recently posted a couple of clips from his net session while the rain was pouring down.

It is worth mentioning here that Sheldon Jackson was one of the top performers in last season of Ranji Trophy. The wicketkeeper batsman had amassed 854 runs in the First-Class tournament to help Saurashtra qualify for the final. His knocks of 73* and 100 were instrumental in Saurashtra's chases of 372 and 279 in the quarter and semi against Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka respectively.

Jackson also boasts an impressive First-Class and List A records. In 66 First-Class matches, the 32-year-old has aggregated 4825 runs at an impressive average of 49.23 with 16 hundreds and 24 fifties while he has tallied 1686 runs in 47 List A games at 39.20 with 6 tons and 9 half-centuries.
