South African cricket legend Jonty Rhodes on Sunday, 10th August, shared a heartfelt message for Suresh Raina after veteran Indian batsman underwent successful knee surgery in Amsterdam.
The left-hander had a knee problem since last few months and now the surgery will require at least six weeks of intense rehabilitation for recovery, which effectively ruled out Raina for a major part of India’s upcoming domestic season.
Raina’s Dutch surgeon Dr H Van der Hoeven confirmed the latest development, “Mr Suresh Raina went through a surgery for his knee where he is been facing discomfort for last few months. The surgery is been successful and it will require him 4-6 weeks of rehab for recovery.”
Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) wished speedy recovery for the batsman while confirming Raina’s knee surgery on its official Twitter handle.
Taking to Twitter, Rhodes has posted a heartfelt message for Raina, who is currently out of international scene having last played for India in July 2018 against England.
His post reads: “@ImRaina u have been an inspiration to so many with your incredible work ethic over your career, especially these last couple of years. Listen to your body now my friend - knowing u, u will want to be out training tomorrow #aramse”
Noteworthy, Raina has represented India in 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20 Internationals so far.
