A hilarious incident happened during England's second innings in the ongoing four-day Test match against Ireland. English batsman Jason Roy, who made his Test debut, was batting on 70* when he lost his shoe while tackling a bouncer from Mark Adair.
Roy tried to come down the wicket and play the ball, but he ended up slipping, and the shoe came out off his right foot, making him lose his balance. It was hilarious to watch, especially in replays. No doubt cricket has thrown some amusing incidents towards us, but this was something rare and rib-tickling.
The 29-year-old was surprised for a minute thinking about what just happened. Roy then removed his gloves and put the shoe on. It left everyone in splits, including the commentators on air.
In the second innings, Roy scored 72 runs from 88 deliveries, which included ten fours and one six, and shared a 156-run partnership with night-watchman Jack Leach who scored 92 runs.
England was bowled out on just 85 runs in the first innings which set the tone for a good contest ahead in the Test match. At the end of second day's play, England, nine down, have got a lead of 181 runs with two more days of the game left.
