You would see cricketers turning into politicians, commentators, participating in the reality shows once their career is over. We have got another ex-cricketer in our list to switch career to start the second innings of life.
Former Zimbabwe pacer Henry Olonga has decided to test his singing skills as he auditioned for The Voice Australia, a famous singing competition. Olonga sang the song 'This is the Moment' and everyone, including the crowd and judges, looked super impressed with his voice.
Only a few know Olonga had to flee from the country because of death threats. He lived in Britain for 12 years and then moved to Australia where he is living currently with his family in Adelaide.
The cricketer-turned-singer has made it to the next round of the show. Talking about his new love, the Henry said, "Music is special to me because I sang as a soloist in the choir every term of my schooling. It became a very important part of my education."
"I've been singing a lot of music since I retired from my previous career,' he said. 'I just wanna sing now. Just sing."
Not only the judges, but even ex-cricketers from different countries also lauded Olonga's performance. Darren Lehmann, the Australia coach, and former South African pacer Shaun Pollock took Twitter to wish him luck.
