The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to play one T20I and five ODIs against England starting from 5th May. The visitors played a 50-over practice match against Kent on Saturday, 27th April. This was Pakistan’s first tour match since arriving in England.
They scored 358/7 in their 50 overs while batting first. Chasing 359, Kent were well placed at 176/3 in the 30th over. Alex Blake was batting on 89 when Hassan Ali was bowling.
Alex miscued a shot and skied one towards the bowler. Ali was well settled under the ball and then dropped a dolly all of a sudden. To the non-striker’s surprise, Ali celebrated in his typical fashion and made the catch look legal. None of the umpires noticed it and Blake was adjudged out.
According to the MCC Laws of Cricket, ‘a fielder obtains complete control over both the ball and his/her own movement.’
This incident has added to the many previous incidents that have brought disgrace to Pakistan cricket. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
