In a horrific terrorist attack, 50 people were killed and around 20 wounded during Friday (March 15) prayers at two mosques of New Zealand’s Christchurch city.

The Bangladeshi cricketers, who were there in Christchurch to play the third Test against Black Caps, narrowly escaped the shooting. Subsequently, the scheduled Test between both the nations was immediately cancelled.

Just a week after the heinous incident, Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan tied the knot with his fiancee. Taking to Facebook, Mehidy confirmed that he is starting a new journey in his life.

"I am starting a new journey in my life today. I would like to request the blessings of all my fans and well wishers for my new beginning. May the Rahmat of Allah always shower upon us," Mehidy wrote on his official Facebook page.

As far as Mehidy Hasan’s cricket career is concerned – he has taken 86 wickets in 19 Tests for Bangladesh. In ODI cricket, the off-spinner has claimed 26 scalps from 25 ODIs having made his international debut in 2016.
